How to stay safe during those cold, wet months.
On the Roads
- Winterize your car before the bad weather hits. Check your tires & wiper blades and make sure you have an emergency road kit.
- Drive at a cautious speed, especially in rain or snow.
- Be extra wary of other drivers: drive defensively!
Around the House
- Check those smoke & carbon monoxide detectors to keep your family safe, whether using a furnace or a woodstove/fireplace.
- On cold nights, ensure that pipes won’t freeze.
- Especially around the holiday season, be sure your house is locked and secure.
- Before the thunderstorms hit, make sure there aren’t any trees that could damage your home.
At Your Business
- Have mats near the door so clients can wipe their feet
- If it snows, be sure the walkways are cleared
